Rep. Virginia Foxx, R-N.C., told Newsmax on Monday that top American universities will be grilled Tuesday on their inaction towards rising campus antisemitism.

Joining "The Record with Greta Van Susteren," Foxx explained that the House Committee on Education and the Workforce will host a hearing on the topic featuring a group of university presidents.

M. Elizabeth Magill, president of the University of Pennsylvania; Dr. Claudine Gay, president of Harvard University; and Dr. Sally Kornbluth, president of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, are set to attend.

"Well, I want to ask them when they're going to get a spine — which is condemning terrorism and doing what they can to protect their students and have them living free of fear that they're going to be attacked on campus because of their nationality or their religion," Foxx stated.

"Our first freedom in the Constitution is freedom of religion, and these students have every right to be concerned about the demonstrations that have been going on and the lack of a strong statement coming out of the presidents," she added.

Foxx said she believes there will be a lot of questions from both sides of the aisle on Tuesday about "How did we get to this point?" — specifically the collapse in ethical judgment that college students are displaying.

The problem, as the congresswoman sees it, is that "trillions of dollars" from taxpayers are going toward campuses turning a blind eye to discrimination, harassment, and antisemitism.

Lawmakers are not the only ones sounding the alarm on rising campus violence.

The Department of Education, CNN reported, is investigating seven schools for alleged incidents of Islamophobia and antisemitism, and some university donors are pulling financial support over the incidents.
