Coalition for Jewish Values Managing Director Rabbi Yaakov Menken lamented on Newsmax Wednesday that it is another Hanukkah with hostages still being held by Hamas.
Menken said he is confident President-elect Donald Trump will do what he can to get the hostages released, especially after speaking with House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La. while celebrating the holiday at the Capitol.
“He said, ‘I'm looking forward to what's going to change under the new administration that they're going to actually be able to take action,’” Menken said on “National Report.” “If you look at what the House of Representatives has done this year, they've done so much to expose the antisemitism on campus, the double standards. And now a new administration is coming in where they'll actually be able… to act on that knowledge.”
Menken noted Trump has already said things will be very, very bad for Hamas if the hostages are not released. He also attacked critics of Israel.
“A decent human being would wait until the hostages have been released and Hamas had surrendered before beginning to accuse Israel of genocide,” Menken said. “It's simply crazy. It's barbaric. It is evil to accuse Israel of genocide where Israel's obvious agenda is the release of the hostages and the surrender of a genocidal terror organization. We have a new administration coming in that fully understands that people have been indoctrinated in ridiculous forms of hate. We're very familiar with the Nazis.”
