Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump leads Democrat nominee Kamala Harris by 2 points in the swing state of Michigan, a margin that includes a two-point edge among voters aged 50-plus, according to a new AARP poll released Thursday.

Trump leads Harris 45%-43% in a full ballot survey, with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. getting 6% of the support, according to the poll. Among voters aged 50 and older, Trump leads Harris 46%-44%, according to the survey.

Among independents, Harris leads Trump 39% to 37% but with 17% saying "other" and 7% undecided. White voters 50+ back Trump by 14 points, while Black voters 50+ pick Harris by about 80 points, according to the survey.

In a head-to-head hypothetical, Trump and Harris are tied at 48% apiece, the survey said.

In the RealClearPolitics polling average updated Thursday, Harris leads Trump by 2.1 points in Michigan.

The AARP survey showed Trump with a 52% job approval rating, with Harris underwater by 7 points at 43% (50% disapproval).

AARP commissioned the bipartisan polling team of Fabrizio Ward (R) & Impact Research (D) to conduct the survey of 1,382 likely voters in Michigan from Aug. 7-11. No margin of error was provided.
