The Biden campaign dropped a new TV commercial on Friday aimed at Hispanics that use past statements of Donald Trump in an attempt to claw back the gains that the Republican presumptive nominee has seen from that voter base.

The 30-second ad, titled "Change," is narrated entirely by Biden, who repeats Trump's past claims that immigrants are "rapists" as well as the more recent claim that they are "poisoning the blood" of the country.

"This election is an election between me and a guy named Trump. This is a guy who calls Latinos criminals, drug dealers, and rapists. Now he says immigrants are poisoning the blood of our country," Biden said.

"What the hell is he talking about? The reason we're as good as we are is because we are the most diverse country in the world."

The ad will run in English and Spanish on digital platforms in swing states Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, and Wisconsin and in an outlier, Florida, The Hill reported. Trump has a 6-point lead over Biden in Florida, according to a poll taken March 11-13.

"Let's call Trump's words and actions what they are: anti-Latino, anti-immigrant, and anti-American," the Biden reelection campaign's Hispanic Media Director Maca Casado told The Hill.

"President Biden knows diversity is our strength. And while Donald Trump recycles his cheap ad from 2020 to attempt to 'win over' Latinos, our community knows it's Joe Biden who is really fighting for them and just how terrible a Trump presidency would be for our community," Casado said.

Biden's support among Hispanics has dropped by 12 points since 2020, 65% to 53%, according to a CBS News poll from late February. A poll earlier this year showed Trump with a 5-point lead over Biden among Hispanics.

"Hispanics, very entrepreneurial people," Trump told British host Nigel Farage in an interview this week. "They like me; I like them."

"Change" is the second ad dropped by the Biden campaign this week aimed at Latino voters, part of his $30 million planned campaign targeted to launch after his State of the Union address.

"Joe Biden no longer has a base, as key Democrat constituencies such as African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and women are supporting President Trump because they are sick and tired of crooked Joe's record-high inflation, open borders, crime, and chaos," Trump campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt said earlier this week.
