Sen. Dave McCormick, R-Pa., and Pennsylvania Democrat Gov. Josh Shapiro on Tuesday joined together to announce a $92 billion investment in the state's energy infrastructure and artificial intelligence companies based in the Keystone State.

During a summit focused on energy and AI at Carnegie University in Pittsburgh, McCormick and Shapiro were joined onstage by President Donald Trump and multiple business leaders to make the announcement, which includes deals to expand hydropower, gas pipelines, and AI development.

"This is a triumphant day for the people of the commonwealth and the people of America," Trump said during the event. "We have the hottest country, and we're going to keep it that way. Today's commitments are ensuring that the future is designed, built and made right here in Pennsylvania and right here in Pittsburgh."

McCormick noted that he and Shapiro crossed party lines to cooperate on a deal that they say will help turn the state into a nationwide leader in AI and energy.

"We're different parties and have plenty of differences, but on this, we agree: We need to be at the crossroads of the energy and AI revolution," McCormick said. "If you're a CEO and want to invest a bunch of money and the governor is saying I'm full of it and vice versa, that makes you not want to invest."

"We're finding common ground on energy, economic development, education, public safety," Shapiro added. "My relationship with the senator is no different. We've got profound differences, but we also understand how critical it is to grow our economy in Pennsylvania. We need to find more ways to disagree respectfully in this country. Hopefully, this can be a model for others."
