Former President Donald Trump responded on Thursday night to being informed of his federal indictment via a post on his Truth Social media outlet saying, "I am an innocent man."
An all-caps post led the four-minute video reading:
"I AM AN INNOCENT MAN. THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION IS TOTALLY CORRUPT. THIS IS ELECTION INTERFERENCE & A CONTINUATION OF THE GREATEST WITCH HUNT OF ALL TIME. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!"
In the video, Trump adds, "Very sadly, we are a nation in decline, and yet they go after a popular president — a president that got more votes than any president than any other in the history of our country — by far."
The former president, standing in front of a painting of Kaiser Wilhelm twirling his mustache as he appears to be ignoring Teddy Roosevelt's accusations, went on to list the state of American politics, including "woke" policies that he said were being ignored while prosecutors are "coming after Donald Trump, weaponizing the Justice Department."
Trump said he and his team will continue to fight the charges and "Make America great again."
