Former President Donald Trump, asked during Tuesday's presidential debate if he would veto a bill protecting abortion rights nationally, said he wouldn't have to "now that the states are voting."

Trump, pressed to answer the question with a yes or no after debate moderator Linsey Davis said his running mate Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio, claimed he would veto such a bill if it came to his desk, said, "I didn't discuss it with J.D."

"I don't mind if he has a view, but we didn't discuss it," Trump said. "We don't have to discuss it because she [Vice President Kamala Harris] wouldn't be able to get it just like she couldn't get student loans."

Trump then turned the tables on Harris, asking her if she would be in favor of abortion "in the eight month, ninth month," to which she didn't respond.
