Shortly after Tuesday night's contentious debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris ended Tuesday night, he declared the event was his "best debate ever," considering he was also sparring with the event's ABC News moderators.

"I thought that was my best Debate, EVER, especially since it was THREE ON ONE!" Trump posted on his Truth Social account.

During the debate, moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis often fact-checked Trump on his answers, leading several Republicans to push back before the debate wrapped up.

Ric Grenell, former acting Director of National Intelligence in the Trump administration, told Newsmax on Tuesday that Muir and Davis proved "to these millions of people that the media are out to get Donald Trump. We couldn't have scripted this better. Both moderators were so over the top attacking Trump and not attacking [Harris]."

Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., echoing the contentions of many Republicans Tuesday night, told reporters that the debate was "three-on-one. They continued to engage in so-called fact-checking of Donald Trump. They never did that to Kamala Harris," reports Politico.

The moderators frequently clapped back at Trump for his statements, including his repeating of accusations that Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, are killing and eating pets; his claims that Democrat-run states allow infants to be killed after birth, and his arguments about crime rates.

Davis, meanwhile, confronted Harris over her flip-flopping on key issues including fracking, and about why the Biden-Harris administration waited until shortly before the election to bring executive actions on the border.

In another Truth Social post, coming after midnight, Trump compared the matchup he had just had with Harris to a prizefight after the Democrat nominee's campaign called for a second debate.

"Comrade Kamala Harris is going around wanting another Debate because she lost so badly - Just look at the Polls!" he wrote. "It's true with prizefighters, when they lose a fight, they immediately want another. MAGA2024."

He added images of several polls to back up his contention, including a snap poll from Newsmax showing 93% of viewers thought he won the debate, compared to 6% for Harris.

In other polls Trump posted, C-SPAN showed 64% of viewers thought Trump won, with 36% calling the match for Harris; Insider Paper gave Trump the nod by 78% to 13%; and The Daily Caller gave Trump 73%, Harris 8%, and the moderators 19%.

Trump campaign adviser Chris LaCivita said the campaign would support a second debate, commenting that the Harris campaign wants another contest as it needs "cleanup."
