Former President Donald Trump slammed mainstream media outlets for failing to cover a report that Vice President Kamala Harris' husband, Doug Emhoff, allegedly physically abused a girlfriend in 2012.

Trump, in an interview Tuesday with Daily Wire founder and podcaster Ben Shapiro, said that if he had been accused of a similar act, it would have been "the greatest story in the last five years."

"[Emhoff] was being interviewed on MSDNC, which is one of the worst — really a terrible, terrible group of people," Trump said, using his nickname for MSNBC. "And it was like a love fest — never asked him about that, never asked him about the other one, you know, he had numerous, numerous problems, never asked him about anything, saying he's like a symbol for all men all over the world.

"It's the craziest interview I've ever seen. If that were me, it would be the greatest story in the last five years."

Trump apparently was referring to an Emhoff's appearance on MSNBC's "Inside With Jen Psaki" before the abuse claim was reported.

Daily Mail.com reported last week that Emhoff, 59, allegedly struck a woman in the face so hard she spun around, while waiting in a valet line late at night after a May 2012 Cannes Film Festival event in France.

Two friends of the woman were informed of the assault soon after it happened. Another heard about it from the woman in 2014.

CNN reported a spokesperson for Emhoff told Semafor the report was "untrue" and "[a]ny suggestion that he would or has ever hit a woman is false."

The New York Post reported Wednesday that CBS News, ABC News, Time, Politico, The Washington Post, The New York Times, NPR, The Associated Press, and MSNBC, among others, have yet to cover the Mail's report.

Former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo said, "If the name were Trump instead of Emhoff, it would be all over the news."

DailyMail.com reported Tuesday that the second gentleman was "inappropriate" and "misogynistic" at work, according to his former colleagues at his former firm Venable.

In August, Emhoff admitted he had an affair that caused his first marriage to end. He provided a statement confirming a DailyMail.com report that his first marriage ended after he impregnated his children's nanny.

During the MSNBC interview, Psaki, who served as White House press secretary under President Joe Biden from 2021 to 2022, told Emhoff he had "reshaped the perception of masculinity."

Emhoff married Harris, 59, in 2014.
