With his mixed bag of recent media interviews and non-appearances, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has kept everyone guessing as to which outlet he’ll speak with next.
While the former president taped a town hall with Fox News and did a town hall on Univision, he also backed out of an interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes” and canceled an appearance on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.”
Reliable Sources reported on Thursday that Trump also abruptly withdrew from another sit-down with a legacy media outlet.
According to three sources with knowledge of the matter, Trump was set to discuss the economy and other issues with NBC News correspondent Christine Romans in Philadelphia on Monday, but the interview was suddenly scrapped by the Trump campaign.
One of the people told Reliable Sources that the interview was “postponed” and NBC is working with the former president’s team to reschedule it.
On Tuesday, a spokesperson for the Trump campaign told The Hill that the “Squawk Box” interview “was pulled due to a scheduling conflict” and “President Trump will be sitting down for an interview with Bloomberg today to discuss the economy."
Trump called off his planned appearance on “60 Minutes” after accusing CBS News of selectively editing an interview with Democrat rival and Vice President Kamala Harris and amid concerns about the network’s fact-checking.
In a clip that was released online and on the Oct. 6 edition of CBS’ “Face the Nation,” Harris can be heard giving a lengthy answer to a question about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, but the response that aired in the final interview on Oct. 7 had been edited to just a few sentences, according to Variety.
"A giant Fake News Scam by CBS & 60 Minutes," Trump posted on Truth Social on Thursday. "Her REAL ANSWER WAS CRAZY, OR DUMB, so they actually REPLACED it with another answer in order to save her or, at least, make her look better."
"A FAKE NEWS SCAM, which is totally illegal," he added. "TAKE AWAY THE CBS LICENSE. Election Interference. She is a Moron, and the Fake News Media wants to hide that fact. An UNPRECEDENTED SCANDAL!!! The Dems got them to do this and should be forced to concede the Election? WOW!"
Newsmax reached out to the Trump campaign for comment but did not immediately hear back.
