Former President Donald Trump's campaign raised $160 million in September, with the majority coming from small donors.

According to Trump's website, 96% of the contributions were under $200, with the average donation clocking in at $60.

Senior Trump staffer Brian Hughes said, "President Trump continues to inspire millions of everyday Americans to join his America First movement and help fuel the campaign with their hard-earned money. In September, nearly 2.5 million donations under $200 were made."

Hughes added: "These supporters have allowed us to bank the funds we need as we move into the campaign's final weeks. Our momentum continues to grow from supporters and donors across the country as we enter the homestretch toward victory."

Trump's website added more news: "With this September haul, the campaign and authorized committees ended the month with $283 million cash on hand ensuring the resources needed to propel President Trump's campaign to victory."

As part of his fundraising efforts, Trump is holding private events to attract larger donors. On Wednesday, Trump attended a reception in Midland, Texas, where supporters paid $50,000 or more for a photo with him.

Vice President Kamala Harris raised more than $361 million in August, but her campaign hasn’t released its September numbers yet. With just a few weeks to go before the Nov. 5 election, both campaigns are working to secure funds for the final stretch, with much of the cash going toward television buys in battleground states.
