House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., is meeting with President Donald Trump and House Republicans on Thursday to discuss budget resolutions, ABC News reported.

"This is part of the process," Johnson, R-La., "the America first agenda. We look forward to furthering that discussion. So, it's going to be a good meeting

Leadership is "working on a one-bill strategy," he added.

House efforts have stalled to start the budget reconciliation process, which allows Congress to fast-track certain types of legislation and avoid the 60-vote threshold typically required in the Senate.

But progress has been made.

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., on Wednesday ahead of the meeting with Trump said he was "very confident" Republicans would reach a consensus on the budget plan.

Rep. Ralph Norman, R-S.C., a key holdout on the House budget, said Wednesday a revised blueprint for the GOP agenda could emerge this week.

"We're working on full text," Norman said Wednesday. "But I will tell you, it's promising, what we're doing."

Senate Republicans, though, said Wednesday they will move forward with their own plan on budget reconciliation, splitting GOP priorities into two bills.

"We appreciate what the House is trying to do, but I think it's very important that we get to [border czar] Tom Homan the money he needs to complete the plan President Trump promised," Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., told reporters.
