The Trump campaign continued its running rebuke of what it calls Vice President Kamala Harris' hypocrisy after she again pushed a Tump policy she had previously opposed.

First, it was the "no tax on tips" policy Trump championed after the Biden-Harris administration actively hunted for tip tax revenue. Now, the Harris camp has glommed on to increasing the child tax credit after then-senator Harris voted against the 2017 Trump tax reforms, saying "get rid of the whole thing."

That included a doubling of the child tax credit.

"Kamala Harris is a hypocrite," the Trump campaign rapid response memo proclaimed, outlining Harris' latest flip-flop for political expediency.

"Hypocrite Kamala voted against President Trump's Child Tax Credit expansion. Now, she says she's for it.

"Yesterday, Kamala Harris unveiled her communist economic agenda, including Soviet price controls.

"Kamala is apparently now in favor of expanding the child tax credit – but her record says otherwise."

The memo noted:

  • Harris' vote against President Trump’s Tax Cuts And Jobs Act in 2017, which doubled the child tax credit, calling it "shameful," "wrong," and a "travesty," accusing Republicans of "playing politics with people's lives."
  • Also, Harris "has repeatedly vowed to REPEAL President Trump's middle-class tax cuts — including the doubling of the Child Tax Credit," the campaign noted, adding a link to The Hill's report on her past remarks.

"They're lying when they say that's what they want to do, because their legislation — which everyone knows — and their executive orders were extremely tough," Trump said at Thursday afternoon's news conference from Bedminster, New Jersey.
