President Joe Biden is weighing "harsh" executive actions for the border as the Nov. 5 general election approaches.
According to Axios, administration officials said the nuclear option is on the table pending any novel trends in a surge of migrants, and as trends in the data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection go, a surge in migrants is set to be the highest ever this summer. The Biden administration is reported to be weighing the legal, logistical, and political consequences of such an endeavor.

Specifically, the orders being discussed would ban migrants from entering the United States illegally and would make it more difficult for individuals to pass the first interview in the asylum-seeking process.
