Reps. Russell Fry, R-S.C., and Eric Burlison, R-Mo., told Newsmax on Thursday that first son Hunter Biden hides behind his father, President Joe Biden, like the fictional character Draco Malfoy did in the "Harry Potter" series.

The congressmen made an appearance on Newsmax's "The Record with Greta Van Susteren" to discuss Hunter Biden's surprise appearance at Capitol Hill on Wednesday during a House Oversight Committee hearing focused on advancing his contempt of Congress charge.

Fry said he thinks the full House will be called to vote on the contempt charge "pretty soon."

"Based on what happened yesterday, I don't think there's a single person in America who wasn't angered by it," he said of Hunter Biden's hearing appearance. "And so I think, we're trying to get to the truth, to the bottom of things, so it is really important that this vote comes up soon, and I hope next week."

Burlison said he doesn't know how anyone could "justify defending this individual," referring to the president's son, who appeared at the GOP hearing flanked by his attorneys, Abbe Lowell, and Kevin Morris.

"I mean, he is a disgusting human being from beginning to end," he said. "Here's a guy who doesn't acknowledge his daughter. He has violated the law every step of the way, and he's lived a privileged lifestyle. What we experienced in the hearing is an individual who continues to want to get special privileges, and Congress isn't going to allow it."

When asked if charging Hunter Biden with contempt of Congress will result in consequences, given that the Justice Department is tasked with enforcement of contempt rulings, Fry pointed to former Trump advisers Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro, who were both charged with contempt of Congress in recent years.

"So, the question for the Department of Justice and the Biden White House is, are we going to have equal justice under the law?" he asked. "Or is this going to be a perpetuation of the two-tiered system of justice?

"Look, for years, Hunter Biden hid behind his dad," Fry continued. "It's like Draco Malfoy in the 'Harry Potter' series, hiding behind his dad constantly. And so the question now is is this going to happen? Is the Department of Justice going to continue to do that? We hope that they don't, but we will see."
