UMass Lowell Poll: Trump, Harris Tied in Pennsylvania

Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris remain in a virtual tie in the swing state of Pennsylvania with just 1 point separating them, according to a UMass Lowell/YouGov survey released Thursday.

The poll of 800 likely voters, conducted online from Oct. 2-9, shows Harris with 46% and Trump with 45%, well within the survey's margin of error of plus or minus 3.97 percentage points, according to Politico, which obtained an advance copy of the poll.

The numbers have changed little since September when the poll had Harris over Trump by 48% to 46%, and are consistent with other polls showing the candidates in a tight race for the state, which many experts have deemed vital to the presidential race's outcome.

Meanwhile, in a key down-ballot race, incumbent Democrat Sen. Bob Casey was shown at 9 points ahead of Republican challenger Dave McCormick, by 48% to 39%, remaining consistent with the 9-point gap between them in September.

In another poll released Thursday and obtained by Politico, Harris came out ahead of Trump in New Hampshire, 50% to 41%.

The survey of 600 likely voters in the Granite State, conducted online from Oct. 2-10, carried a margin of error of 4.83 percentage points.

Trump has taken the blue state's primaries in the past two elections but did not carry the state in the general elections in 2016 and 2020.

New Hampshire also has several key down-ballot races.

The race to replace outgoing Republican Gov. Chris Sununu remained in a dead heat, with GOP former Sen. Kelly Ayotte netting 42%, against former Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig, with 41%.

Democrats have said that the race represents their best chance at flipping a governor's seat.

Sununu, a two-term governor, has endorsed Ayotte as his successor.
