Voter registration for Republicans increased in three highly contested swing states while it dropped for Democrats, which could mean good news for former President Donald Trump, writes Newsweek.

North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Nevada have seen an increase in GOP voter registration, according to the news outlet, while both Republicans and Democrats lost registered voters in Arizona.

In Arizona, there has been a more than 13% drop in Democrat voter registration since 2020 and a decrease of over 3.5% for Republicans, according to data from July 30.

Currently, there are 260,000 more registered Republicans in the state than Democrats.

Nevada shows more registered Democrats overall (713,789 to 667,542), although data shows that voter registration is up by 2% for Republicans since 2020 and Democrat registration is down by 6%.

State voter data in Nevada from Sept. 28 shows the number of registered Republicans has increased by over 2.7% since 2020 while the Democrat registration has dropped by nearly 8%. Still, there are fewer registered Republicans (2,292,483) in the state than Democrats (2,415,536).

Pennsylvania, meanwhile, has seen a 2.5% increase in registered Republican voters since the last presidential election and an almost 6% decrease in registered Democrats.

There are more Democrats registered (3,941,347) than Republicans (3,608,032).
