The New York City mayoral race is a dead heat, according to a new poll from HarrisX.
In a four-way race, Democrat nominee Zohran Mamdani is statistically tied with former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa.
Mamdani leads with 26%, followed by Cuomo at 23% and Sliwa at 22%, all within the margin of error. Mayor Eric Adams lags with 13%, while 15% remain undecided, according to the poll.
In a three-way race without Adams, Cuomo leads with 31% over Mamdani, 29%, and Sliwa, 28%.
In a three-way race without Cuomo, Mamdani leads 35% to Sliwa's 25%, with Adams at 19%.
In head-to-head matchups, Mamdani leads Adams 43% to 36%, and Cuomo leads Mamdani, 50% to 36%, respectively.
Adams and Sliwa have said they will not abide by a mid-September resignation deadline to try to consolidate the vote against Mamdani, ABC 7-N.Y. reported Monday.
Cuomo has signed on to the pact, vowing to exit the race if he is not ahead of other candidates besides Mamdani by mid-September.
The survey was conducted online from July 7–8 among 585 registered voters in New York City.
The margin of error for the total sample is ±4.1 percentage points. This study was conducted independently by HarrisX prior to Andrew Cuomo's announcement to run as an independent in the general election.
