We've just celebrated another Fourth of July, and I have a few thoughts on why we celebrate and engage with this annual observance of our independence.
As a concerned American (as many rightfully are these days) this writer has some observations about how the Democratic Party has elevated the abuse of our citizens in a way England's King George III could only have dreamed of.
First, let's start with quotes from our Declaration of Independence, to put things in context, then let's compare those with the how our federal government works against its citizens today:
In the Declaration, we read: "That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."
"But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."
Now, to compare our Founder's grievances versus the abuses of our own federal government today.
"He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good."
(Border laws ignored risking the sovereignty and safety of the country and its citizens.)
"He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them."
(Tyrannical laws regarding the 2nd Amendment, restricting oil, gas, coal exploration, mandatory vaccines and vaccine passports, shuddering most businesses and schools. Restricting assembly. Working with the mainstream media and big social media to parrot policy and quell dissent.)
"He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands."
(Obliteration of the country’s immigration laws and shipping illegals wholesale across the country without vetting.)
"He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary powers."
"He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance."
(Weaponizing the Department of Justice (DOJ), FBI, and IRS against Republicans and other conservatives.)
"He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power."
(Joe Biden used the national guard to quell dissent in Washington, D.C. for months.)
"For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury."
"For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences.
(Jan. 6 prisoners — anyone?)
"He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us."
"He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us."
(The Democrats abject silence as Occupy Wall Street, Antifah, and BLM have murdered dozens, wounded thousands, and caused billions in damage.)
There's a reason why 85% of Americans think the country is going in the wrong way.
The previous text is a testament to that sentiment. We'll emerge stronger, and those who attempted to subvert the constitution and "fundamentally change" America will be dispersed and hopefully punished.
