The GOP Must Still Find and Deliver Effective Messaging
There was a time when the Democratic Party proposed actual policies.
An era gone, giving way to outrageous proclamations and promises which are nothing more than pipe dreams.
The expression "pipe dream" originated in the 1870’s, where fantasies were spawned while smoking pipes in opium dens.
Today, Democratic Party politicians seem to share a collective pipe, as they continue making more absurd promises: Free healthcare, education, housing, childcare, mass transit, along with unfeasible minimum wage hikes are advocated ad nauseum without strategies other than one common ethos: the demonization of a socio-economic class — the rich.
"None of the problems we face would exist were it not for rich people, who don’t pay their fair share of taxes," has become the mantra of Democrats.
Bill de Blasio, the pro-socialist former mayor of New York, nearly doubled the city’s budget while at the same time lowering the quality of life for everyone.
Despite a current budget of $112.4 billion for a fiscal year, New York’s Democratic politicians have continued to deliver inadequate public schools, increasing crime on the streets, subways and in retail stores.
During de Blasio’s two disastrous terms, New York saw a huge exodus of wealthy taxpayers leave the city as the mayor continually vilified them for not paying their "fair share," while advocating a policy of wealth redistribution.
The top 1% of taxpayers contributed 48% of the city’s personal income liability while wealthy individuals and corporations carry the bulk of the nation’s tax burden as well.
Despite these facts, Sens. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif., and many other prominent Democrats, and others on the left, repeat the "fair share" mantra as if it were on a looped tape, offering no solutions other than tax increases to fund "free" programs.
Condemning and punishing people who achieve financial success is not a legitimate economic policy, but rather an act of divisiveness which does nothing but foster acrimony.
Left wing politicians may effectively galvanize young followers with hyperbolic claims, but in no way do they consider the repercussions of these actions.
Candidates and politicians like Zohran Mamdani and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., bring a cult leader’s charisma to politics, but their followers are drinking a Kool-Aid that will deliver a slow death to everyone — racially, socially, and economically.
Convincing young, uninformed voters that nirvana awaits contingent upon the removal of an oligarch class is political scapegoating bred from the desperateness of having no real platform.
Misleading a naïve group of young people is demagoguery at its worst, but that seems to be the new playbook for the Democratic Party.
The one positive from all of this is despite the cult-like popularity found by a few Democratic politicians, these non-existent policies can be their ultimate downfall and further empower the Republican Party, provided they deliver their own effective messaging along with a cogent rebuttal to pipe dream policies.
