"Mama June" Shannon Thompson, whose family shot to stardom off the fame of her 9-year-old daughter Honey Boo Boo, came out as
bisexual during an interview with "Inside Edition" last week in which one of her other daughters, Lauryn "Pumpkin" Thompson, "outted" her.
The mother and daughter, who starred in the TLC series "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," initially appeared on "Inside Edition" to talk about Lauryn Thompson's bisexuality.
"I'm attracted to females, and I'm attracted to males," the teen told "Inside Edition" in the interview that aired Friday. "You cannot hide who you truly are."
Lauryn Thompson then called her mom out.
"She's gay, too," she said, referring to her mother. "June is gay, too."
On the defensive, Mama June then attempted to clarify her own sexuality: "I'm not going to lie, I played in the minors but never went pro."
"Yeah, you did go pro," her daughter shot back.
"Mama June claims she has fooled around with women but has never had a real relationship with one," "Inside Edition" reported.
TLC canceled "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" last October after news broke that Mama June was allegedly dating Mark McDaniel, who was convicted of
aggravated child molestation in 2004, according to Entertainment Weekly.
"TLC has canceled the series 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' and ended all activities around the series, effective immediately," read a statement from the network. "Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority. TLC is faithfully committed to the children’s ongoing comfort and well-being."
Mama June defended McDaniel on the "Dr. Phil" Show in November, saying that he had "no issues" when they first met, adding that he may have been rehabilitated and not a
danger to children, according to TMZ.
