The TV show character formerly played by Roseanne Barr will be killed off the show during the upcoming season, actor John Goodman revealed in a new interview.

Goodman, who is also on the show, told The Sunday Times that Barr's character won't last much longer.

"Roseanne" aired for nine seasons from 1988-1997 before it was brought back for a revival season earlier this year. Barr, however, was fired from the show after she made a racist remark on Twitter. ABC rebranded the show as "The Conners."

Goodman said his character Dan will be "mopey and sad because his wife's dead" during the upcoming season.

He would not go into further detail about what will happen.

In a news release dated in June, ABC said of the show, "After a sudden turn of events, the Conners are forced to face the daily struggles of life in Lanford in a way they never have before."
