WH: Gov't Funding Discussions Ongoing

The White House on Monday said it was continuing to discuss federal government spending and a potential shutdown with Republicans and Democrats in Congress ahead of the Sept. 30 funding deadline.

"Discussions are ongoing with both Republican and Democratic members of Capitol Hill," White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt told reporters at a briefing, adding that the White House wanted an extension of current U.S. government funding through November 21.
