Sen. Bernie Sanders, D-Vt., may have had a good fundraising haul in the fourth quarter of 2019, but that's only compared to the other Democratic Party losers he’s running against.
Sanders' so-called "blowout" total of $34.5 million pales in comparison to the historic fundraising numbers posted by the real front-runner in the 2020 race — President Donald John Trump.
The Trump campaign has been a money-raising force to reckon with from the very beginning of this election cycle, but it managed to exceed even those high standards with the president’s re-election efforts taking in a jaw-dropping $155 million during the final three months of 2019.
Predictably, though, that little detail didn’t stop the liberal media from showering Sanders and his campaign with endless praise.
For example, Politico.com didn’t want to tarnish its pro-Sanders puff-piece with even a single line about President Trump’s fundraising totals.
Presumably, doing so would undermine that article’s claim that Sanders’s fourth quarter fundraising is evidence that he is the strongest Democratic Party candidate.
Cable news segments about Sanders and his Party rivals, similarly, made it easy for viewers to come away with the impression that Sanders is now a formidable general election candidate — but President Trump’s even more remarkable fundraising haul puts everything into proper perspective.
Indeed, the only way any of the Democratic candidates could compete with the Trump campaign was by pouring their personal fortunes into their doomed presidency-seeking efforts.
Specifcally, billionaire candidates Michael Bloomberg and Tom Steyer put a combined $355 million into their own coffers while raising less than $1 million from actual voters — and that was still just barely enough for them to edge out Trump's totals.
But the liberal press can’t hide from the fact that the impeachment witch hunt — which was largely egged-on by dishonest reporting — has backfired on the Democratic Party.
Even CNBC was forced to acknowledge that impeachment "appears to be paying off for President Trump’s fundraising."
President Trump isn’t the only one benefiting from the impeachment scam put on by the Democrats, though — the entire Republican Party is riding the wave of voter frustration with the Democrats’ partisan overreach.
The Republican National Committee (RNC) has raised more than twice as much as the Democratic National Committee (DNC) did in November of 2019, ending the month with a war chest that is more than seven times larger than the DNC’s.
Axios.com reported that the fundraising mismatch proves that impeachment is "energizing Trump's base just as the 2020 march to Election Day kicks off," adding that the president’s "digitally driven campaign is giving him a massive fundraising and organizing advantage over whoever emerges from the Democratic race."
Of course, the Trump campaign’s fundraising dominance really shouldn’t come as such a surprise to the Democrats — and the media.
After all, the president warned them that pursuing a frivolous and futile impeachment effort would only motivate his supporters:
"It’s energized my base like I’ve never seen before, the president said in October of 2019. He added, the impeachment circus is destined to "backfire" on Democrats.
It turns out he was right.
The only presidential candidate who delivered a "blowout" fundraising number in the fourth quarter of 2019 was Donald J. Trump.
