The mystical and the divine as well as war and peace comprise the topics of this week's Newsmax Rising Bestsellers.

There is the premise that Mystics from ancient civilizations accurately predicted the events of today, while another asks Americans, especially Christians, to truly live one phrase from the Pledge of Allegiance — "one nation under God."

There is a third describing the tale of a little-known World War II hero and a final nonfiction offering warning Americans against becoming too complacent, lest we face "the end of everything."

Plus, there is a novel of the week, a psychological thriller.

"The Avatar," by Jonathan Cahn (Frontline)

Author Jonathan Cahn describes "The Avatar" as the return of the ancients and how that affects the future of America.

He calls this the "most explosive book" of the 10 he's written.

It offers a deep understanding of spiritual conflicts and explains how historical events are intertwined with what we're seeing and experiencing today.

The publisher says the book will explain:

  • Who the avatars are.
  • What they have to do with the future of America and the world — and our lives.
  • That they could lie behind the outcome of every recent American presidential election and the nation's future.

"Mind boggling and a wake-up call to the world in which we live and the spiritual warfare we now face," said Larry Sutherland for GoodReads. "This book will create skepticism as well as awareness. It forces you to "pick a side" in order to determine its impact on our awareness and growth. I enjoyed and was challenged by it."  [Nonfiction]

"Christian Patriot: 12 Ways to Create One Nation Under God," by Taylor Marshall (Post Hill Press)

With a foreword by Kansas City Chiefs placekicker Harrison Butker, "Christian Patriot" provides a roadmap for anyone wanting to restore Christianity as the original blueprint for Western civilization.

It shows the reader how to confront moral crises such as abortion and human trafficking to champion parental rights and religious liberty — one of America's foundational principles.

"Dr. Taylor Marshall gives a historical and theological study of the steps that led to the condition our nation finds itself in today," wrote Joyce Pace for Amazon. "'Christian Patriot' is indeed an exceptional piece of work, a tour de force, and a must read for anyone and everyone who loves God and His holy precepts."  [Nonfiction]

"Delivery Man: The Enemy-Alien Nisei Translator Who Saved his Battalion," by Rory Laverty (Regnery History)

This is the true World War II story of U.S. Army Sgt. Roy Matsumoto, a Japanese American.

He was born in the U.S., then moved to Hiroshima with his family.

After seven years, he returned to Southern California, where he worked delivering groceries until the bombing of Pearl Harbor.

After that, all Japanese Americans were sent to internment camps. Matsumoto was able to secure his freedom by enlisting in the Army as a combat translator, and his unit was sent to Burma.

It was there, working with a new special forces unit, that he courageously put his life on the line in order to save his brothers-in-arms.

"Roy Matsumoto is as heroic and compelling as Louis Zamperini of 'Unbroken,'" wrote Kevin Maurer, 10-time New York Times No. 1 bestselling author. "With 'Delivery Man,' Laverty just might have written the last, great WWII story."  [Nonfiction]

"The End of Everything: How Wars Descend Into Annihilation," by Victor Davis Hanson (Basic Books)

Frequent Newsmax TV contributor and military historian Victor Davis Hanson illustrates that from the time of the Trojan War, mankind has had the ability to destroy entire civilizations and bring about an end of political systems, culture, and "The End of Everything."

He describes how the vanquished then descends into barbarism and finally obliteration, no matter how "advanced" or "civilized" it may have been, and warns the reader that no society should consider itself immune — even our own.

"Magisterial accounts of four cataclysmic case studies make this a must for anyone with an interest in ancient and premodern history," wrote The Irish Times in its review. "Hanson writes elegantly and uses an impressive range of documentation, both ancient and contemporary, with due consideration given to different perspectives."  [Nonfiction]

"The Lucky Club," by Jess Harnell (Jess Harnell)

Newsmax's novel of the week is a psychological thriller centered on a criminal who's on a quest to eliminate anyone who receives fame based on a questionable talent.

But when he becomes a social media sensation for his crimes, what then? Should he eliminate himself for achieving questionable fame as a serial murderer?

"I bought a copy because I've been a fan of the author's work in cartoon voiceover for 30+ years. I didn't know what to expect, so I approached it with an open mind. Turns out, this is good. This is VERY good," wrote Jeremy Freed for Amazon "Great work, Mr. Harnell. I hope you have another one in you."  [Fiction]
