A majority of investors surveyed by CNBC said President-elect Donald Trump will improve the economy after he takes office.
CNBC polled about 40 investors last week for the Delivering Alpha Stock Survey, and found that more than two-thirds think Trump will help the economy. The results:
- 71% said Trump "will be great for the economy and markets."
- 29% disagree
More than half (57%) said they trust the Trump administration to handle artificial intelligence. Investors were evenly split on whether Trump's plans to impose tariffs on several of the country's major trade partners will help or hinder the economy, American workers, and consumers.
Investors also are mixed about the influence of billionaire Elon Musk, a top Trump adviser, on the incoming administration. The breakdown showed:
- 36% said Musk is "for sure" a "good influence."
- 36% said they were "not so sure" Musk is a "good influence."
- 28% said there’s "no way" Musk is a "good influence."
