U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent Wednesday said U.S. consumer prices could start coming down next month or the month after, citing a drop in energy prices and housing prices.

"Energy prices are down. I think that housing prices are a lagging indicator, especially in rates, so I think we could see that the CPI numbers start coming down next month, the month after," he told Fox Business Network's "Kudlow" program.
