One of the most competitive positions to fill in the Trump 47 Administration is the Envoy to Fight Antisemitism.
It is also one of the most controversial. Here are some facts as to why this position must be positioned very strategically within the administration and why most of the people lobbying for it are not the most qualified and/or the best fits in these positions.
Let’s learn a valuable lesson from the envoy of the Biden Administration, Deborah Lipstadt. Lipstadt became a household name after Hollywood shared her story in the movie, Denial, in 2016, based on her bestselling book, History on Trial: My Day in Court with a Holocaust Denier.
Under her tenure, Lipstadt made more news attacking people like me, Jews who support President Trump, and Republicans and Conservatives down ballot than actually leading legislation activism against perpetrators of arson, harassment and worse. Her biggest accomplishment was attending parties as a Jew with fellow Jews.
What did Lipstaft do to help American hostages or the murderers of innocent Americans around the world who were targeted for being Jewish?
How much did she know and not share? How much could she have done to protect kosher restaurants, yeshivas and synagogues and Jewish businesses from swastika paint, broken glass and harassment of innocent people practicing their choice of where and when to attend a place freely?
How did Lipstadt stop false accusations against Israel and Jews in classroom curriculum and the hiring of qualified Jewish staff? The list goes on, but the evidence suggests that Hollywood, Instagram and red carpet attendees who are Jewish do not make the best envoys.
Envoys should be loyal to MAGA, and that means not only President Trump, but to securing his down ballot representation in state and local elections and issues. Mayor Eric Adams was promoting his staff’s efforts to ready Rikers Island for Trump when he thought Trump was going to be found guilty and lose not only all of his court cases, but his bid for The White House. Adams does lots of talk and parties but little action, same by mayors and governors leading Jewish populated “blue” areas.
The next envoy can’t be “wishy washy.” Yes, they should be able to convince Democratic Jews to support Trump, but their leadership should challenge candidates in local elections in 2025 so that state capitals, city councils and village mayors are MAGA!
The envoy should be a leader to build coalitions, something previous Jewish leaders under Trump haven’t been able to successfully promote. President Trump had the religious Jewish vote in 2016, 2020 and in 2024. However, those in power didn't lead a UNITED Jewish vote.
American Jews vote just like other Americans, by their financial interests and by their safety in local communities. They also need better leadership from an envoy to fix Black-Jewish relations that have been destroyed by the Democrats and Black Lives Matter, and build new relationships with other minorities.
Our future envoy must have a knowledge of the cabinet members and their history of supporting Israel and fighting antisemitism. For example, Pete Hegseth has an incredible history of reporting from Israel, building lasting friendships in Israel and working with American Jewish organizations. Kristi Noem and Michael Walz have been supported by the Republican Jewish Coalition for years.
Future Ambassador Mike Huckabee has a unique position to educate the public on the Zionist movement today and our envoy will play an important part in this as the Abraham Accords will be part of the Middle East agenda. He is the first non-Jewish Ambassador in almost 20 years, since 2008, when President Bush nominated James Cunningham.
Our next envoy has to educate the public on the need to work with Christian Zionists and Moderate Arabs that are negotiating with Israel AND successfully support the laws of Judaism since we are not a trend on Facebook, rather a religion that has succeeded thousands of years because of rules and codes of ethics.
Faith is going to play an important role in the next administration. We see it already with the return of prayers in schools and the trends in popular religious themed movies. Judaism is a complex religion, with many laws. Let’s take advantage of this agenda to spread Jewish pride and encourage going to synagogue, lighting Shabbat candles and eating at a kosher establishment.
Ratings for Bravo Reality shows are down, including shows with their lowest viewership ever. Thirteen retail chains have announced closings for 2025 and Saks Fifth Avenue has merged with Bergdorf Goodman. Movies like Wicked and Gladiator 2 have seen ticket sales drop double digits before Christmas Day.
Israel is not a trend. Judaism is not a headliner. Both are far more important and despite enemies trying to destroy and obliterate them, they continue to survive and thrive. A strong Israel is a strong America, and European nations are seeing that too based on recent elections.
Please President Trump fulfill this position with a proven MAGA leader to carry out your true agenda for decades after you leave office and not a trendsetter who doesn’t understand the complexity of this position. As Trump would say, antisemites and anti Zionists, YOU’RE FIRED!
