One of the best lines at the Republican National Convention recently was by the president of Ultimate Fighting Championship Dana White when he introduced former-President Trump to accept the GOP presidential nomination and close out the convention.
White said, "America needs a strong president. And the world needs a strong United States."
These words perfectly reflected the urgent need for a strong and decisive U.S. commander in chief following three and a half years of the weakest U.S. president with the worst foreign policy in history.
As a result, the world is much more dangerous and unstable than when our nation's 45th president left office in January 2021.
After the disastrous U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021, global instability surged. Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022.
North Korea tested a record number of ballistic missiles.
Tensions with China sharply increased with a large number of military provocations against Taiwan, and in the South China Sea.
Iran began to accelerate work on its nuclear weapons program in January 2021 and started enriching uranium just below weapons-grade a few months later.
Tehran’s revenues sharply increased because the Biden administration stopped enforcing U.S. oil sanctions and repeatedly gave Iran sanctions waivers.
Iran used this additional revenue to fund terrorist groups, including Hamas, which committed the horrendous attack on Israel on Oct. 7, 2023.
President Trump said, "War is now raging in Europe and the Middle East. This administration can’t come close to solving the problems."
At the convention, Trump was crystal clear that he will solve the global crises caused by Joe Biden by restoring American global leadership and deterrence.
Trump said he would end the war against Israel started by Hamas last October and warned Hamas that it will "pay a high price" if it did not release the hostages it took by the time he assumed the presidency.
If Trump is reelected, I expect Iran and the Houthi rebels will also pay a high price if Houthi missile and drone attacks against Israel and shipping continue.
The former president sent a clear signal about what his Mideast policies in a second term would be like when he named the strongly pro-Israel Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio, as his running mate.
Vance has been one of the strongest supporters of Israel in the Senate.
He has called for deepening the U.S.-Israel relationship and has accused the Biden administration of "prolonging the war to take out Hamas."
Trump said Iran was broke when he was president, but now is 250 billion richer due to the Biden administration's failed Iran policy.
Trump said that during his first term, "I told China and other countries if you buy from Iran, we will not let you do any business in this country," and indicated he will resume such maximum pressure policies against Iran if he is reelected.
On the war in Ukraine, President Trump said, "Under President Bush, Russia invaded Georgia. Under President Obama, Russia took Crimea. Under the current administration, Russia is after all of Ukraine. Under President Trump, Russia took nothing."
Trump said he will quickly end the Ukraine war, a promise both Russian and Ukrainian officials appear to be taking seriously.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was scheduled to talk by phone with Trump soon, according to press reports.
President Trump also sent a powerful message to Mexican leaders that he will not tolerate the continued "invasion of our southern border" by an unprecedented number of migrants illegally entering the United States.
Mr. Trump said he will start massive deportations of illegal immigrants and finish building the border wall. Our 45th commander in chief was also clear that, like his first term, he will force Mexico to stop the flow of illegal migrants by threatening to cut off U.S. economic aid.
By saying, "America needs a strong president. And the world needs a strong United States," Dana White said what Americans and people globally are all too aware of: the dangerous world of today was caused by a weak U.S. president, a global perception of American weakness, and the deterioration of American deterrence.
Donald Trump promised to reverse this dangerous situation by restoring strong and decisive U.S. presidential leadership.
You can be sure America's enemies are worried because Trump achieved this before.
