China's Commerce Ministry Says It Maintains Communication With US

China's commerce ministry said Thursday it has maintained communication with its U.S. counterparts, and the country is open to economic and trade negotiations on the basis of mutual respect.

The U.S. should resolve differences with China through equal dialog, said He Yongqian, a ministry spokesperson, when asked about the White House's remark that the "ball is in China's court" for trade talks.
