Denmark, Greenland Expand Military Presence Ahead of US Meeting

⁠Denmark and Greenland said on Wednesday they had begun to increase ‍their ‍military presence in and around Greenland ⁠in close cooperation with allies, as part ​of their promise to beef up ‍Arctic defense.

The announcement comes as ⁠Denmark's and Greenland's foreign ministers are set to meet ⁠with ​Vice ⁠President JD Vance after ‍weeks of threats by ‌President Donald Trump to take control of ⁠the ​island, an ‍autonomous territory of Denmark.
