Mexican President: Waiting Before Tariffs Response

Wednesday, 12 March 2025 11:42 AM EDT

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum on Wednesday said her government will wait for a possible resolution in coming weeks instead of responding to U.S. tariffs on foreign supplies of steel and aluminum that came into force earlier that day.

"We will wait until April 2 and from then we will see whether our definition of reciprocal tariffs will be applied, too," she said.
