Erdogan to Iran's President: Israel Aims to Sabotage Nuclear Talks

Saturday, 14 June 2025 12:18 PM EDT

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told his Iranian counterpart, Masoud Pezeshkian, in a phone call on Saturday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was trying to set the region on fire and to sabotage nuclear talks with attacks on Iran.

A statement by his office said Erdogan had also told Pezeshkian that Israel's attacks aimed to divert attention from what he called a "genocide" in Gaza.
