New Mexico Patient Positive for Measles After Death

The New Mexico Department of Health said on Thursday that a deceased resident of the state had tested positive for measles.

The patient was a resident of Lea County and was unvaccinated, the state health department said.

While the official cause of the patient's death is still under investigation, testing by the state's health department has confirmed presence of the measles virus.
