Ray Negron - Biography
Ray Negron is a sport's executive with over 40 years experience in baseball. His first job came from a chance encounter with George Steinbrenner as a youth. Ray was caught by Steinbrenner scrawling a Yankee logo on a Yankee Stadium wall, and instead of punishing the erstwhile graffiti artist, Steinbrenner hired him as the Yankee bat boy and propelled him into a dream job; sharing the dugout with the Bronx Zoo Yankees of the 1970s.
Despite his young age, Ray was a positive influence in the fiery clubhouse that included manager Billy Martin, superstar Reggie Jackson, the legendary Thurman Munson, and more.
Ray Negron has become an American film producer, a best-selling author, and a philanthropist. He has been recognized internationally for his humanitarian work with children.
Ray is the New York Yankees community consultant, visiting schools and hospitals with former and current baseball players. He is currently
working on several books and film projects including a feature film and a family television series entitled Tio Papi.
Ray has written and published five best-selling books including his memoir, "Yankee Miracles: Life with the Boss and the Bronx Bombers." He is the executive producer of the film, Henry & Me, the animated film that was inspired by the success of his children's book series.
He has inspired hundreds of underprivileged children to stay in the game of baseball and off the streets by creating Hanks Yanks, a league of youth baseball teams which has produced many collegiate and professional players throughout the past few years.
Throughout the years Ray has been honored extensively for his charitable work. He has received numerous humanitarian awards and has been recognized for his work in the community by many organizations.
Ray was inducted into the Ted Williams Hall of Fame Museum and the International Latino Sports Hall of Fame. Among his many awards for public service, Ray received an award from the Department of Homeland Security for his achievements and accomplishments as an author and for being a positive role model in the community.
As a lifelong learner committed to education, Ray is also a frequent lecturer around the country. He shares his inspiring heartfelt stories with children and students who embrace him with great enthusiasm.
