Yes, there was serious, widespread fraud in the 2020 Pennsylvania election.
That is, if we’re to believe more than a dozen witnesses presented by Trump campaign counsels, Rudy Giuliani, and Jenna Ellis at a legislative hearing conducted last week, the day before Thanksgiving, by the Pennsylvania State Senate Republican Policy Committee.
For a while it was reported that President Trump himself was set to attend, but at the last minute the trip was called off.
He did, however, call in to voice his thanks for the hearing and make his views known.
Spoiler Alert: Don’t look for a concession from the nation’s 45th commander in chief.
The hearing was requested by Pennsylvannia State Sen. Doug Mastriano, R-Dist. 33. (Note: Post-hearing, Twitter suspended Mastriano's account. The Senator took a screen shot of the message from Twitter. It read: "Twitter suspends accounts which violate the Twitter Rules." There was an uproar over the blatant censorship. President Trump tweeted out a comparison to the censorship of Communist countries. Eventually, the suspension was removed. Typical Big Tech big footing.)
Mastriano represents four Central Pennsylvania counties — one of them is Adams County, the home of Gettysburg.
And, on purpose, the hearing was held in Gettysburg, site of the famous Civil War battle where, 157 years ago this month President Abraham Lincoln delivered his Gettysburg Address.
This anniversary of this monumental event in American history was most assuredly lost on no one in the room. On that day (Nov. 19, 1863) Lincoln pledged "that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom — and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."
And it's no exaggeration to say that the legislators at this hearing — not to mention their enraged constituents — feel exactly what has transpired with all the detailed stories of chicanery that "government of the people, by the people, for the people" is now under serious threat.
They also believe that if that threat is not stopped now, it's quite conceivably gone for good.
Said Sen. Mastriano:
“Elections are a fundamental principle of our democracy — unfortunately, Pennsylvanians have lost faith in the electoral system. It is unacceptable.
"Over the past few weeks, I have heard from thousands of Pennsylvanians regarding issues experienced at the polls, irregularities with the mail-in voting system and concerns whether their vote was counted. We need to correct these issues to restore faith in our republic.”
Sen. Mastriano also recently called for the resignation of State Department Secretary of the Commonwealth Kathy Boockvar for purported negligence and incompetence.
"We are going to walk as free people in Pennsylvania. The time for dithering and politics is over," declared Mastriano, who quickly introduced the Trump campaign’s legal counsel, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
Giuliani began with a blunt summary: "Your election was a sham. A disgrace."
Giuliani then introduced the list of over a dozen witnesses, with groups of three appearing on a series of panels. The witnesses had been stationed in counting centers in Philadelphia, Allegheny, Montgomery, and Delaware counties. (Allegheny is home to Pittsburgh, Montgomery and Delaware are suburban Philadelphia.)
Members of the committee followed with questions, the hearing lasted almost four hours.
The common thread with all the witnesses were repeated details of allegedly being blocked from observing the vote counting, and also the revelation that alegedly more mail-in ballots were returned than were sent out, that hundreds of thousands of ballots suddenly appeared in a "spike" while others suddenly disappeared.
For example, in Delaware County, said a witness, all "chain of custody" data has mysteriously vanished.
Another witness, this one from Philadelphia, said "The Philadelphia board of elections processed hundreds of thousands of mail-in ballots with zero civilian oversight or observation. . . .The board of elections erected a fence about 50 feet into the hall that ran the length of the room, all observers were corralled behind the fence.
"More than a hundred board workers processed and opened mail-in ballots on the other side of fence. . . .Due to the distance of the workers from the erected fences, it was impossible for me or any observer to see what the workers were doing with any type of specificity.
"The observers were not able to challenge any decision or determination being made about the processing of these mail-in ballots."
When he called in, the President said this to his supporters: "If you were a Republican poll worker you were treated like a dog. . . .Our poll watchers were pushed out of the building." And in a reference to the threats that have been made against both his legal team and witnesses he said "don’t be intimidated by these people." One Trump lawyer had to have protection after being threatened by . . . you can’t make this up . . . a lawyer at another firm.
The president made it absolutely crystal clear that he was about overturning "a fraudulent election." He added that there were "many, many cases of fraud. . . .They cheated. It was a fraudulent election. This election was rigged and we can’t let that happen.
"We can’t let it happen for our country. And this election has to be turned around, because we won Pennsylvania by a lot and we won all these swing states by a lot."
Sen. Mastriano closed out the hearing by directly addressing the media, "The truth is out there, media you should have found these witnesses — do your job."
This hearing scored on two counts. First, it answered critics who have been demanding evidence. And one witness after another presented that very detailed evidence with their own personal stories of their experience.
But secondly the hearing was a red flag for Team Biden. As was noted by Giuliani, Article II, Section One of the Constitution specifically says this:
“Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress:…”
Which is to say, it is the state legislature that has the authority to “direct" Pennsylvania’s 20 electors. Or simply refuse to acknowledge their appointment.
And judging by the vehement insistence of the legislators — all of whom believed and said their enraged constituents believed — that there had been a massive fraud in the state?
It's not hard in the least to imagine that they will respond to their similarly enraged constituents and direct that no electoral votes be cast by Pennsylvania at all — until a second special election is called.
Article I, Section 5 of the Constitution of Pennsylvania says this about elections: "Elections shall be free and equal; and no power, civil or military, shall at any time interfere to prevent the free exercise of the right of suffrage."
After listening to the witnesses at this hearing, it is abundantly clear that the case can be made that the 2020 election was neither free nor equal and that in the counting process civil and occasionally police authorities did in fact act "to prevent the free exercise of the right of suffrage."
Note: While the hearing was ongoing a Pennsylvania state judge issued a halt to any further certification of results in the state, with a hearing scheduled for Friday.
In short? Holiday season or not, this issue of voter fraud in Pennsylvania is not going away.
