Trump's Legal Woes Part of a Broad Strategy to Suppress Dissent

Donald Trump was convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records.

This isn’t about justice — it’s a coordinated attack to take down a political opponent. The Washington, D.C. establishment and progressive liberals are pulling out all the stops to destroy our nation's 45th commander in chief and anyone else standing against their agenda.

Conservative commentator Curt Mills warned that this will lead to an "arms race of recriminations."

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg only went after Trump after his hand was forced.

Bragg received significant pressure to act from Mark Pomerantz, a partner at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison.

Pomerantz’s criticism, conveniently leaked to The New York Times, forced Bragg to aggressively revive his dormant investigation. Robert Schumer, brother of Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., is connected to this law firm.

This reeks of political maneuvering and political revenge.

Then there is U.S. Atty. Gen. Merrick Garland.

His Department of Justice (DOJ) seemingly engages in selective and less than honorable prosecutions.

Garland’s appointment of U.S. Special Counsel Jack Smith and the comparatively recent sweetheart plea deal for Hunter Biden show a blatant double standard.

Garland’s refusal to comply with congressional subpoenas regarding President Biden’s interviews further erodes public trust in the DOJ.

The Democratic lawfare complex has clearly created a two-tier justice system in America.

The blatant bias and unfairness in Trump’s cases confirm this disturbing reality.

Beyond former President Trump, a dangerous precedent has been set for future political rivals. Today it’s Trump. Tomorrow it could be anyone who dares stand against the establishment.

Remember, Trump isn’t being charged a hush money payment itself.

He has been accused of falsifying business records.

The real issue isn’t the payment but how it was handled. Former North Carolina Senator John Edwards faced similar charges but was quickly acquitted.

The double standard is glaring. Edwards was accused of using campaign funds to hide an affair, a clear violation.

Yet he walked free.

Meanwhile, Trump is being crucified with 34 felony counts for bookkeeping practices.

On Nov. 5, Americans will head to the polls.

It’s Biden versus Trump, a rematch from 2020. Yet this is more than just a repeat of the past. On the line is a new battle for the honest soul of America.

The stakes couldn’t be higher. Biden’s approval ratings are in the gutter, hovering around 40%. Inflation is skyrocketing, gas prices are through the roof, and the international stage is in chaos. Meanwhile, Trump continues to draw massive crowds, his rallies packed with enthusiastic supporters who believe in his vision for America.

Despite all of Trump’s legal battles, a PBS NewsHour/NPR/Marist poll shows 67% of voters not being swayed by a Trump conviction. 25% of Republicans say they’re more likely to support him if he is convicted.

This underscores the resilience of Trump’s support and the deep polarization in American politics. The broader sentiment is that many Americans see through the political theater and recognize a witch hunt for what it is.

Mark Bauerlein perfectly noted that "The civic faith collapses."

Catherine J. Ross warns of "further concerted efforts to erode the rule of law."

This isn't just about one man, it's about the integrity of our democracy.

The erosion of trust in our institutions is serious. When the justice system is weaponized for political gain, it undermines the very foundation of our society.

Democrats are hoping that labeling Trump a "convicted felon" will finally drag him down in the November general election.

Polls asking if people would change their vote based on such events are notoriously unreliable. This verdict might even mobilize Trump's supporters, making it more likely they’ll show up in November.

Leah Wright Rigueur reminds us, "American democracy is fragile and in crisis."

Trump's legal woes are not an isolated incident but part of a broader strategy to intimidate and suppress political dissent.

The double standards are glaring. Hillary Clinton's email scandal was brushed aside, and Biden's family dealings are ignored. Conversely, Trump faces the full force of a biased legal system. Americans are not stupid. As Catherine J. Ross aptly puts it, these are “further concerted efforts to erode the rule of law.”

The New York legal system political vendetta attacks on Trump are an attack on the American spirit. Justice is being sacrificed for power and political control. Election 2024 is about saving the soul of America.

Supporting Trump is more than just endorsing a candidate.

It’s about standing up for American values.

We must rise and stand firm against tyranny.

Ignore the attacks. We must support Trump for freedom, justice, and America.

Then he can save our economy, global standing, and democracy.
