In one of the most controversial and criticized moves in the modern cable television era, Fox News fired Tucker Carlson.
Carlson had been at the center of the most watched primetime slot in mainstream media and was abruptly separated by arguably the top influential conservative network on cable television: Fox News.
Outrage infiltrated the conservative right in a way that has not been seen since Trump lost the 2020 presidential election.
Any sane individual should be looking for the real reasons why someone, who was the network's strongest voice was fired.
Was it merely for no other reason than irreconcilable differences of opinion?
The reasons offered vary, as to why Carlson was let go.
Carlson openly discusses highly controversial topics that hardly any other television personality on mainstream media would dare to address.
His topics have included: Western Christian faith and the reasoning behind U.S. involvement in the Russia-Ukraine War.
Carlson's criticism has targeted deep state institutions like the CIA, ATF, and FBI.
Some pundits think his "no-filtered" perspective is a huge reason behind his firing.
Tucker speaks to the viewers concerns about topics they actually care about, rather than what corporate Uni-party-media-rulers would rather he discuss on air.
If it were up to Fox News corporate heads and donors, Carlson would sound exactly like Sean Hannity.
Hannity does indeed have a niche audience, but he needs to connect to contemporary American viewers as Tucker can.
While Carlson would talk about foreign affairs influenced by the military-industrial complex, and corporate lords owning the American government, Hannity would have Caitlyn Jenner on his show to talk about transgender issues.
While Hannity would have on Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., Tucker would slam Graham for being a neoconservative; a weak politician with no fundamental ideology, besides wanting to get into endless wars.
The two were yin and yang, and Fox News watchers ensured they tuned into the latter in the primetime slot that turned Carlson into, arguably, the most influential media personality of modern American television.
Unfortunately, it seems as if the supposedly steadfast conservative network that Fox News purports to be, still answers only to its ruling uniparty, corporate ownership, and that power structure wanted Carlson gone.
Not only was it an ideologically ignorant decision to betray the man so many Fox News viewers adored, it has proven financially catastrophic.
Fox's financials dropped dramatically after Carlson's departure was announced, and his recent Twitter testimonial on his account garnered far more viewers than his former TV slot, on April 26.
Fox and Newscorp will be hurt more than Carlson, who is bound to earn millions and perhaps have more influence than he ever had in whatever venture he decides to pursue next.
Recently, in a Twitter thread, Carlson was seen on leaked video snippets making harmless jokes, parodying Bill O'Reilly, and slamming the network's streaming website, Fox Nation.
After these videos were leaked, text messages were also published in The New York Times.
Carlson is shown seemingly demonstrating sympathy for a protester getting swarmed and beaten during the riots of 2021.
There is a problem with such leaks, and it's not that they made Carlson look somewhat flawed, but instead, they made him look like an average human, versus another media shill.
[The reaction from the far-left, of course, was to attack him for things he said or wrote, that they deemed inappropriate. However, no independents or Republicans downgraded the man for simple jokes and/or text messages.
Tucker Carlson is his own man, and the voice of the modern conservative movement.
His humor, unfiltered honesty, and his ability to encapsulate what's currently going awry in American society are why he's regarded as a figurehead of conservative thought.
Hopefully, the Tucker backlash will mean Fox learns from this episode, that in the long-run, it doesn't pay to silence those voices so many Americans can genuinely connect with.
