GOP Needs to Wake Up and Fight

Republicans cave and Democrats do not.

Unfortunately, this statement has rung true yet again as a majority threshold of the controlling body of U.S. House Republicans voted to raise the debt ceiling, signaling a win for the Hakeem Jeffries-led Democratic House Minority Caucus.

House Speaker Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., made the first significant mistake during his tenure: he caved to the majority of Democratic wants in a move many conservatives in the two bodies of Congress are bewildered by.

When progressives, such as Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., have even said they will not vote to raise the debt ceiling on this piece of legislation, the majority caucus of the House of Representatives has to know they've committed a grave error when it comes to fiscal responsibility.

Anyone paying attention to national politics has likely been made aware, Republicans do nothing with their power when they have even an inkling sense of control.

They seem to stifle good opportunities to fight against the progressive left and neoconservative right. Instead they give more influential power to the lead administration led by a senior tyrant and his lackeys.

Actual House conservatives, such as Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla., and Rep. Diana Harshbarger, R-Tenn., called out the efforts of Republicans and Democrats to pass an unnecessary and insolvent bill like the Fiscal Responsibility Act.

Rep. Mills called the legislation a "huge victory lap for President Biden."

Rep. Harshbarger echoed that the bill did nothing besides give Democrats more spending and power, including "the weaponization of federal agencies."

Reps. Mills and Harshbarger seemed to agree with most of their constituents on social media and back in their districts in thinking that the legislation did nothing more than give the Democratic Party more victories with public perception and national policy.

Even progressive mainstream media shill Lawrence O’Donnell stated that "Biden won" strategically over Republicans and capitalized on the House majority caucus’s lack of collaboration when approaching the debt ceiling.

The president got to uphold his executive order to forgive federal student loans and keep billions of dollars in funding that would go towards funding and weaponizing the Internal Revenue Service by the left.

Unfortunately, this is an ever-occurring issue.

No matter how much America First conservatives push the establishment on fiscal, social, or foreign policy, Republicans in Congress do nothing besides continue to disappoint their constituency.

Democrats can always afford their fringe outsiders to go against the establishment staples of their party because they will always have the numbers to fight back against whatever Republican entity they are going up against.

The exact opposite is true regarding needing a reliable number of true conservatives to stand up against the minority caucus.

Despite a clear advantage in pure numbers, power, and influence in just one body of Congress, Republicans still fail to get anything done for their voters nationwide.

They would rather cave and earn small victories than negotiate and get what they promised to deliver to their voters.

Republicans desperately need to pull up their bootstraps and look in the mirror.

If the American people cannot identify clear-cut differences in the way they see how Republicans deal with policy in comparison to Democrats, then we have no hope.

The GOP, yet again, needs to wake up.
