Protesters were reported Saturday to have blocked the public lobby of Trump Tower in Manhattan and to have entered a Target store in Richfield, Minnesota, as demonstrations against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement broadened amid a wave of national protests tied to federal immigration activity in Minnesota.
In New York, an unverified video was posted on X by a poster citing FREEDOMNEWS.TV appeared to show demonstrators occupying the lobby of Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue, chanting, "How many more have to die?"
The report described about 30 protesters, and professionally made signs reading "ICE is Trump's Gestapo" and "Abolish ICE."
In Minnesota, an IRT Media post on X purports to show a video of protesters inside a Target store in Richfield, singing and holding signs that said "Target Keep ICE out!"
The video did not identify organizers or provide independent confirmation of how many people were involved.
However, organizers have publicly promoted a Saturday "day of action" calling for sit-ins at at least 19 Target locations across the Twin Cities area, including the Richfield store.
The Target-focused demonstrations follow earlier scrutiny in Minnesota after federal immigration agents detained two Target employees in Richfield who were described as U.S. citizens, according to reporting and accounts cited by community leaders.
Richfield officials have said the city’s police department does not enforce immigration law but may assist with crowd safety during federal enforcement activity, and warned that obstructing ICE actions is unlawful.
The demonstrations are unfolding against the backdrop of escalating conflict over federal immigration activity in Minnesota.
No police agency, Target spokesperson, or Trump Tower representative was identified in the reports as confirming the demonstrations or any enforcement action on Saturday.
This is a developing story.
