CPAC Endorses Trump to 'Put America Back on Track'

By    |   Friday, 12 January 2024 11:03 AM EST

The influential Conservative Political Action Conference on Friday endorsed former President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election.

Polls show that Trump currently is the clear front-runner in the GOP primary race.

"#CPAC endorses President Donald Trump for President of the United States," the organization posted on X. "[President] Joe Biden has turned calm into chaos, competence into incompetence, stability into anarchy, and security into catastrophe."

On its website, CPAC offered more detail on the decision to back Trump.

"The extreme leftist marxists have infiltrated our colleges, universities, elementary schools, the military, in fact all of our sacred institutions," CPAC said in its statement

"As conditions at the border, the economy and culture dramatically worsen every day, one person has again clearly won the hearts and minds of conservatives for his tireless commitment to Make America Great Again.

"Voters have heard from all the candidates on their policies to save America at this most urgent time in history."

The statement added that conservatives "are the heart, soul, and backbone of the Republican coalition."

"Now is the time to unite and support the candidate who best can accomplish what is needed to put America back on track," the statement said. "President Trump will win. He will be the 47th President and the best for America is yet to come."

The Iowa caucus on Monday kicks off the Republican primary season, followed by the Jan. 23 New Hampshire primary.
