Almost a month into the Trump Administration, the Department of Government Efficiency has announced substantial savings in government spending.

DOGE, which is overseen by tech mogul Elon Musk, announced savings of $55 billion. The savings comes from a combination of fraud detection/deletion, contract/lease cancellations, contract/lease renegotiations, asset sales, grant cancellations, workforce reductions, programmatic changes, and regulatory savings, DOGE said on its website.

"We are working to upload all of this data in a digestible and fully transparent manner with clear assumptions, consistent with applicable rules and regulations," DOGE said.

The top 10 agencies based on savings from contracts and lease cancellations are:

  1. USAID (US Agency for International Development)
  2. ED (Department of Education)
  3. OPM (Office of Personnel Management)
  4. HHS (Health and Human Services)
  5. USDA (Department of Agriculture)
  6. DHS (Department of Homeland Security)
  7. GSA (General Services Administration)
  8. Commerce (Department of Commerce)
  9. EPA (Environmental Protection Agency)

  6. OPM (Office of Personnel Management)
  7. DHS (Department of Homeland Security)
