The Department of Education has removed more than 2,300 websites created by the Biden administration related to diversity, equality and inclusion initiatives and promoting LGBTQIA+ policies, Breitbart reported Friday.
The websites, among other things, promoted hiring teachers based on race, and advised schools to respect all students' gender identities and use inclusive language. Others encouraged schools to support LGBTQI youth and establish gender and sexuality alliances to build a more inclusive school, Breitbart reported, citing screenshots of the websites.
"While America's students continued to fall further behind in fundamental learning, the Biden administration turned the Department of Education website into an apparatus that pushed their woke propaganda," Department of Education spokeswoman Savannah Newhouse told Breitbart.
"Countless fact sheets on how to use inclusive language and 'reflect the diversity of human bodies' is a distraction from real education and a disservice to students, teachers, and parents everywhere. The Trump Education Department has removed over 2,300 webpages and corresponding assets from the Biden era because the American people have been clear: no more prioritizing divisive ideology over meaningful learning and student outcomes."
On Inauguration Day, Trump signed an executive order ending DEI programs in the federal government. The Department of Education has cut $600 million in teacher grants deemed "divisive" and $100 million in funding for DEI programs, according to Breitbart. The Department of Government Efficiency's efforts to curb wasteful spending has resulted in the termination of $1 billion in education contracts.
