President Donald Trump stated on Monday that while he supports Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents wearing masks during enforcement actions against criminal illegal aliens, he prefers no masks when they're assisting at U.S. airports.
Writing on Truth Social, the president said, "I am a big proponent of ICE wearing masks as they search for, and are forced to deal with, hardened criminals, many of whom were let into our country by Sleepy Joe Biden and his wonderful "Border Czar," Kamala [Harris] (she never even went to the Border!), through their absolutely insane Open Border Policy."
Trump added, "I would greatly appreciate, however, no masks, when helping our country out of the Democrat caused mess at the airports."
Trump's message came after he declared on Sunday that ICE agents will arrive at the nation's airports on Monday to handle security at exceedingly long lines driven by a shortage of Transportation Security Administration workers due to the government shutdown.
Tom Homan, the White House border czar who will lead the effort, suggested the focus of ICE agents would be on security instead of screening, saying that "a highly trained ICE law enforcement officer can cover an exit; that relieves TSA to go to screening," MS.now reported.
