Former President Donald Trump leads Vice President Kamala Harris 54% to 48% in the Economist’s latest election forecast 15 days before the presidential election.
Trump, the Republican GOP nominee, has picked up 8 percentage points since Friday and took the lead over Harris for the first time in two months.
The Economist model, developed with a team of scholars at Columbia University, puts Trump narrowly ahead in Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, while the candidates are tied in Michigan and Nevada.
"The race remains more or less a coin toss," The Economist said in Monday's update, despite Trump's recent gains.
Harris and Trump are essentially tied in many of the national polls, with neither candidate ahead by even a single point, according to the New York Times.
As Election Day nears, Trump and Harris are hitting the campaign trail in strategic battleground states.
