Former President Donald Trump leads President Joe Biden by 12 percentage points in the swing state of Ohio, according to Emerson College Polling.
A total of 45% of Ohio voters support Trump, the clear front-runner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, Emerson College Polling results show.
Biden, running for reelection, has 33% support. Eleven percent are undecided.
"Trump leads Biden by 12 points in Ohio, a larger lead than his 2020 and 2016 victories of about eight points," said Spencer Kimball, executive director of the Emerson College Polling Center.
"Like in the U.S. Senate race, younger and minority voters are more likely to be undecided or voting for someone else — indicating lower enthusiasm for Democratic candidates both at the statewide and national level."
Incumbent Democrat Sen. Sherrod Brown (36%) trails Republican State Senator Matt Dolan (38%) in the Ohio U.S. Senate race.
Against Ohio Republican Secretary of State Frank LaRose (39%), Brown trails by a point. The Democrat leads businessman Bernie Moreno (33%) by two points.
As for Trump and Biden, voters were asked if there's anything that their preferred candidates could say or do in the next several months that would make them choose not to support them for office in 2024.
A majority (55%) of Trump supporters say there's nothing the former president could say or do that would make them choose not to support him for president in 2024. Only 20% say they could change their minds.
Among Biden voters, nearly half (49%) say there's nothing the president could say or do in the next several months that would make change their minds. Another 21% say they could change their minds.
Emerson also asked Ohio voters whether Trump in 2016 or Biden in 2020 stole The Buckeye State election.
A majority (64%) think Trump won the 2016 election fairly, while 18% think he stole the election. Nineteen percent are unsure.
A plurality (46%) think Biden won the 2020 election fairly, while 36% think he stole the election. Eighteen percent are unsure.
"Political affiliation appears to be driving perceptions on whether the 2016 and 2020 elections were stolen or won fairly: 40% of Democrats thinking the 2016 election was stolen compared to 65% of Republicans in 2020 thinking the election was stolen," Kimball said.
"Independents were more likely to think both elections were won fair and square at 59% in 2016 and 44% in 2020."
