Elon Musk will reportedly attend a private dinner Tuesday that President Donald Trump is hosting for Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, marking a high-profile reunion months after the two men clashed publicly.
Musk, who previously worked with Trump as head of the Department of Government Efficiency, was invited to the event, according to Punchbowl News.
Their relationship soured in June after Musk stepped away from his government role to focus on private-sector projects, triggering a social media spat.
Trump threatened to cut off federal contracts with Musk's companies, while the billionaire suggested Trump appeared in sealed Jeffrey Epstein files.
The dinner comes during the crown prince's first U.S. visit in seven years and one day after Trump confirmed he would approve the sale of F-35 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia.
Meeting with the prince in Washington, Trump praised Saudi Arabia as a key ally and said the aircraft sale would move forward after months of internal debate.
Salman's visit follows a period of heightened diplomacy in the Middle East.
Trump continues to press Saudi Arabia to join the Abraham Accords and normalize relations with Israel, though the Saudi government maintains that any agreement must include a path to a Palestinian state.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu remains firmly opposed to that requirement.
At the United Nations on Tuesday, the Security Council approved a U.S.-backed Gaza peace plan that includes a technocratic administration and an international peacekeeping force for two years.
Russia and China abstained, allowing passage of the measure, which Hamas rejected.
Saudi officials are also pursuing several major deals during the visit, including cooperation on civil nuclear energy that would require congressional approval.
On Wednesday, Saudi Arabia will host a U.S. investment conference at the Kennedy Center.
The trip represents a reset after the 2018 killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, which U.S. intelligence has linked to the crown prince, who denies involvement.
