The new prime minister of Greenland did his best to throw cold water on President Donald Trump's recent comments about taking control of the North Atlantic island territory.
The Daily Express reported Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen said Trump would be blocked. "The United States won’t get that."
Nielsen added: "We do not belong to anyone else. We determine our own future."
He did not address the issue that Greenland is already under partial control of another nation. It is a territory of Denmark.
Vice President JD Vance visited a U.S. military installation on Greenland on Friday. He threw barbs at Denmark leaders for "underinvesting" in Greenland.
In one of his most recent comments about the future of Greenland, Trump asserted that an increased U.S. presence and some level of control was not far off.
