Sen. Rick Scott: Biden Takes CCP Money, but Trump Gets Indicted

By    |   Sunday, 19 March 2023 06:22 PM EDT

Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., said on Sunday that there is a double standard in American politics today: one in which the House Oversight Committee can show that President Joe Biden took money from the Chinese Communist Party and another in which former President Donald Trump can face an indictment over alleged hush-money payments to an adult film star.

Responding to revelations in an Oversight Committee memorandum, Scott told "Sunday Morning Futures," "There's a double standard. If you're Trump, there's a standard; and it's Go all in, attack the guy. Everybody's OK with that. But if it's Biden, Oh, we've got to be careful: we've got to follow the law."

"That's why Americans are fed up with DOJ [the Department of Justice], with FBI, with so many things in our federal government. They know there's a double standard. This is wrong," Scott said.

On Thursday, the House Oversight Committee said in a press release about the memorandum that "on March 1, 2017, less than two months after Vice President Joe Biden left public office, State Energy HK Limited, a Chinese company, wired $3 million to Rob Walker’s company." The committee identified Walker as "a Biden family associate." The New York Post reported that State Energy HK Limited is a firm that's connected to the  Chinese Communist Party-backed energy company CEFC China Energy.

"The next day," the press release stated, State Energy HK Limited "wired $1,065,000 to a company associated with James Gilliar, another Biden family associate. Afterwards, the Biden family received approximately $1,065,000 in payments over a three-month period in different bank accounts."

Scott added in his interview, "Look, we've got to find out what happened with Biden, with all that money."

Earlier on Sunday, Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., chairman of the House Oversight Committee, told "Sunday Morning Futures" there are 11 more reports slated to come out regarding the Biden family's business dealings with China.
