Biden Bangs Head Before Addressing 'Sandbagged' Fall

By    |   Friday, 02 June 2023 01:40 PM EDT

President Joe Biden banged his head while exiting Marine One on Thursday shortly before addressing the fall he took earlier in the day during the Air Force Academy's commencement ceremony.

"I got sandbagged," he told reporters after he returned to Washington, D.C.

Shortly before speaking to the media members, the president hit his head on the door frame while exiting Marine One after the helicopter landed on the White House grounds.

Biden, 80, fell on stage after congratulating the last of the Air Force graduates at the ceremony. The White House blamed the fall on a sandbag on the stage.

"He's fine. There was a sandbag on stage while he was shaking hands," White House communications director Ben LaBolt tweeted.
